American Appliances BV processes personal data of its customers, potential customers and other contacts. We do this in order to be able to execute a possible agreement. In this privacy statement we explain why and in what way we process your personal data.

Which personal data does American Appliances BV process?

A small part of our processing is required by law. This mainly concerns personal data that is necessary to meet our tax obligations.
- Newsletters and mailings
We occasionally send newsletters and/or mailings. Sometimes these are personalized based on certain actions that you have taken or products and/or services that you purchase from us. You always have the option to adjust your preferences for receiving newsletters and mailings.
Automated decision-making
American Appliances BV does not make decisions based on automated processing (algorithms) that could have adverse consequences for you.

- Forgetting: you can delete the personal data we have about you. It is possible that we still need to process that data for other purposes (administration or deduplication, for example).
- Restriction:If you think that we are processing your personal data unlawfully or incorrectly, you can also have that processing restricted.
- Objection (opposition):You can file an objection to the processing of your personal data. Is it for marketing purposes? Then we will end that processing as soon as possible.
- Portability:This is a new right under the GDPR to transfer your personal data. If you wish to make use of this, please contact us.
You can also:
- Withdraw consent:for example, for receiving e-mails. If you wish to withdraw consent for another processing, you can contact us. This can be done via info@am-ap.eu
- File a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP): Do you think that we are not acting in accordance with privacy legislation? Then of course we would like to hear from you. You can also file a complaint about this with the AP after 25 May 2018.
How long do we store your personal data?
Personal data may not be stored for longer than necessary. The storage period depends on the purpose for which we received or collected the data and on any legal obligations to store data.
If you have requested a quote from us but you have not become a customer of ours, we will delete your data no later than two years after our last contact. Also if we have received a quote from you, but we have not become a customer of yours, your personal data will be deleted no later than two years after our last contact. If you have become a customer of ours or we have become a customer of yours, we will store your personal data for a period of seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement with you has been fully executed. The period of seven years corresponds to the period within which we are obliged to store our administration for the Tax Authorities. After this period, we will store your personal data for a period of seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement with you has been fully executed.delete personal data.
Basis of the processing
As explained above, we process some data to fulfil a legal obligation, some to fulfil an agreement and most to fulfil the legitimate interest of American Appliances BV: to fulfil our objective. Transfer to third parties
In connection with the execution of a possible agreement with you, it is possible that we must provide your personal data to parties who supply products and/or services to us or who carry out work on our behalf. Furthermore, we use external server space for the storage of (parts of) our sales and purchasing administration, of which your personal data form a part. For this reason, your personal data are provided to our server space provider.

We take the protection of your data seriously and take appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification. We have taken the following measures to protect your personal data:
- Servers and devices of our employees are equipped with up-to-date security software, such as a virus scanner and firewall.
- We only send your data via secure internet connections (SSL). You can see this in the address bar ‘https’ and the padlock.
- Access to personal data from mobile devices is restricted and actively monitored.
DKIM are internet standards that we use to prevent you from receiving emails in our name that contain viruses, are spam or are intended to obtain personal (login) data.
